Local Indigenous Knowledge - Practical Industrial Use
WHY THIS TRAINING?
You probably landed here because your client or employer instructed you to. Our role is to facilitate knowledge and information about the local Indigenous groups that you could affect through the projects you may be involved in.
We will paint you a picture that illustrates the Canadian landscape of Indigenous commitments and, through each of our Indigenous partners, provide insight into what is important to them and how it will impact how you perform your role.
You, as a participant in the industrial arena, municipal development project, or policy maker in government, need to understand the commitments the federal government has made with Indigenous peoples local to your area and how those commitments affect what you do.
The courses were designed using a pragmatic and intent driven process with regional content developed by the very Nations and Settlements your activities potentially impact.
Much like a First Aid Ticket or Ground Disturbance Certification that you would be required to attain before working for your clients, being competent in the social awareness of Indigenous Rights and Commitments is now a requirement by the First Nations and Settlements on the traditional territories that you operate on.
This is the only competency and training that is recognized by our Indigenous partners on their traditional lands and as such your employer or client has made a commitment to these Indigenous groups that you will be aware and responsible for what you do that potentially impacts their rights and those commitments.
Good luck and we truly hope you enjoy the content.
